Capturing the American Spirit is a comprehensive view of the most popular American artist living today, LeRoy Neiman. Encapsulating the full range of his talents including works in all of his beloved subjects in a variety of media from original paintings and drawings to his limited edition silkscreens. Artistically Neiman is probably most recognized for two elements in his works: movement and color. The quintessential Neiman is painted with a brilliantly bold kaleidoscopic palette, and applied with a loose, painterly brushstroke. He has an amazing talent for creating movement within his art whether it be Mickey Mantel’s bat swiftly swinging through the air, the Le Mans car race, or a herd of elephants stampeding right out of the picture plane.

With the speed of a top professional athlete, the precision of a skilled surgeon, and the grace of a prima ballerina Crosbie delights spectators as he shapes the 1900º plus glass while adding color and exacting form. Glassblowing is an amazing medium requiring intense speed and quick thinking by the master, which makes it even more magical and entrancing for the audience to watch. LIVE glassblowing demonstrations will be held throughout the fall of 2007 at the gallery's glass studio with touring artists, Crosbie will be delighting viewers and creating beautiful glassworks.
