We are incredibly excited about the 2008-2009 season and all of the cutting edge creations currently being designed in our state-of-the-art glass studio! Last year, we invented a new technique with the Lord of Glass, Crosbie, and his perfected technique for hand-blown glass jellyfish. We look forward to all of the amazing opportunities and beautiful results that are sure to be created this season, once again, in this magical studio.
We believe that art glass is one of, if not the most, fascinating art medium. American Fine Art is thrilled to be able to offer our clients a place to witness the mesmerizing and awe-inspiring medium of hot-glass blowing. We select master glassblowers from around the world to visit the studio. Each one of our glass masters has been selected by our scrutinizing eye for their uniqueness and quality of design, their attention to detail, their desire to constantly experiment and push the boundaries of the glass art medium, and last but certainly not least: their purpose for creating is there passion for the art.
We invite you to watch as the master of his craft transforms the molten glass into phenomenal works of art. With the speed of a top professional athlete, the precision of a skilled surgeon, and the grace of a prima ballerina Crosbie delights spectators as he shapes the 1900º plus glass while adding color and exacting form. Glassblowing is an amazing medium requiring intense speed and quick thinking by the master, which makes it even more magical and entrancing for the audience to watch. LIVE glassblowing demonstrations will be held throughout the 2008-2009 season at the gallery's glass studio where touring artists will be delighting viewers and creating beautiful glassworks. For more than 20 years, Crosbie has developed his talents and expertise to become a skilled artist in hot glasswork. His art has been exhibited in the United States and throughout the world and is recognized for its high quality, distinctive style, and uniqueness of design. Crosbie is an artist of the purest kind exploring new techniques and learning more and more about his craft everyday he works.
Crosbie describes his love of glass as “a fantastic, fluid art medium. I enjoy experimenting using new methods and techniques with the challenge of making something totally different and unique.”
