A master of painting in the Photorealist style, Thomas Pradzynski continues to catch the eye of admirers and collectors around the globe. Pradzynski brings the city streets to life with thoughtful and loving sensitivity, including many memorable scenes from Paris, Naples, Venice and the United States. Pradzynski orchestrates, in each of his compositions, a complex fusion of artistic skill and thoughtful emotion for the cities he transforms on canvas. The natural realism is not seen, but is rather felt, experienced, and remembered. The consistency of shadow and variety of textures throughout each piece pinpoints the time of day, the weather, the season; elements that would distract the viewer are removed. The life inherent in Pradzynski’s paintings is augmented by the absence of the human figure. More subtly, and thereby more forcefully, the hints of human presence are incorporated into his artwork with such objects as a bicycle, a chair, or an open window. Thomas was born in Lodz, Poland, on November 29, 1951. His childhood was greatly influenced by his aunt Joanna, an artist in Krakow. Joanna recognized his talent and soon became his tutor. When he was nine, his family moved to the Montmartre district of Paris, where the city stimulated his creative spirit. The excitement of the modern city was like no other he had experienced. He was enamored by the freedom expressed by the Parisians, most importantly, by the street painters with their brightly colored canvases. Upon returning to Poland in 1965, he resumed his artistic studies in painting and drawing. Eventually succumbing to family demands that he pursue a more practical course in life, Thomas went to school and earned degrees in Sociology and Economics. But Thomas would not settle for any other lifestyle or profession but that of an artist. He returned to the magical city he visited as a child with his wife in 1977 to begin painting. Like many artists, Thomas experimented with several styles and techniques before developing his signature style of the Parisian street scenes that the world has come to love. Collectors clamor for his new releases eagerly anticipating his next work. His talent and skill in the school of Realism has allowed him to achieve worldwide success and recognition. Pradzynski has shared his work in many exhibitions throughout the world including New York, Germany, Japan, and California, to name a few. Thomas’ work is readable yet psychologically and emotionally complex.
